AHA! : Toastmasters

Toastmasters has been a part of my life since 2017. If you are new to this term 'Toastmasters', it is an organization that promotes Public Speaking.

Although you may have your first impression of Toastmasters such as breakfast toasts or probably breakfast clubs, kindly assured that it is just the names. Oh, but you still can found lots of foods during physical Toastmasters meeting (:

I still remember my AHA! moment when I first entered the room for the meeting of JCorp Toastmasters Club. 

I meet the eyes of my superior who have pushed my office-mate to make their speeches for next meeting. As I was the executive trainee back then, she did not pushed me for speeches but instead, she pushed me to come and to look on how usually Toastmasters meeting runs.

So I went. 

Usually in a meeting, they will have 3 sessions : prepared speeches, table topics, evaluations.

At the session of table topics, I do not know what thoughts that I have or whispers that I listen to that makes me raise my hand to be one of the participants. *smh*

So I went up to the stage and give a speech that I don't want to remember for barely 44 seconds!

*scream of embarrassment*

For that awful speech, I did not expect any reaction and I just focus to go back to my seat.

But instead, I received a booming applause.

They accept my silliness. Because they believe, we learn from our mistakes.

And that truly capture my heart, and now I am a proud Toastmasters member (:

If you want to experience how Toastmasters meeting being held, this MCO is a perfect time for you!

I would suggest for you to just go to Facebook, type in Toastmasters D102 Division G or Toastmasters International District 102

From there, you can attend any clubs that held their meeting online and you can just contact the organizer and poof! you are now able to get to know more people in different countries, different races, different career in one same club.
