#BoIR : Letters to God
#BoIR is the collection of 'Books that I Read' that I would like to share the simple summary of the book that I have read and the inputs that I get after reading a particular book.
"I wish I read this book when I'm in my college years"
That is my first thought when I'm at the midway of reading this book.
This book is written by Norhafsah Hamid, a former advocate and solicitor. So you may expect that this book has a little touch on her civil practice experience.
'Letters to God' is about Sarah and her life stories of before and while she went to study law at one of the university in United Kingdom. The story is based from June 2000 until May 2003.
Norhafsah wrote this novel using the approach of Sarah writing her diary, which makes me soooo excited that I get to read a stranger's diary (hehehehehe). But what makes it more interesting is that, Sarah is not only writing diaries; she wrote letters to God.
That is so MIND-BLOWN for me. Why I never think like that?
I always know that Allah is The Watchful One but the thought of He reading my diary never comes to me. Thank you to this lovely book, I now know that the sorrow and happiness that I shared in my diary/journal is being read by The Most Merciful and that fact alone, left my heart swells with happiness (:
I love the character of Sarah. She is never ashamed of herself. In this book, Sarah is depicted as a small, petite girl. She wore hijab, and never took it off eventhough she is studying at United Kingdom. She is small in appearance, but big and strong in her principles.
This book left me with so much thoughts to reflect on myself.
Why I am ashamed of myself?
What can I do to be steadfast to my principle?
Why I prevent myself to be kind and friendly to people?
- and this reflections makes me always feel that I should love myself first (:
So, dear readers, if you want a copy of this book, you can bought it at
Till then,
x
